This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Cross Creek Campground is always a brilliant experience, and Highland Lake is not the only place nearby, Peggy Lake is a nearby lake. Good hiking is available along the Cliff Lake Trail, and a lake nearby is Highland Park Lakes. At Highland Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into       the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Highland Lake dip into the 0's. There's wonderful hiking along the Penrose Park Trail, and Highland Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Highland Park Campground is a tremendous local campground. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Bighorn Mountains. Whitewater paddling is fine on Tensleep Creek, and after a long day outdoors                  Wingate by Wyndham Sheridan WY is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. Highland Lake is located in the Bighorn Mountains. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the area in the neighborhood of Highland Lake has to offer. The Solitude Trail offers hiking at its best.
