You can take a little journey to Heber Dam while you're here at Heber Reservoir, and Heber Reservoir is a spot with many visitors from Evanston. Heber Reservoir is frequently a quite dried out place; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain; January meanwhile is the driest month. Evanston. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Willow Creek, and not far from Heber Reservoir you'll stumble on Austin Reservoir which is a picturesque lake. At Heber Reservoir you can spot Pine Knoll,
and you can run the rapids of Blacks Fork - East Fork. Near Heber Reservoir you find the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail which is a good hiking trail, and why not camp at Bear River Campground since you're here at Heber Reservoir. Summertime

 | 19 miles away The U.S. Forrest Service last attention to this trail was in 1994/1995 and the trail markings in many places is all but non-existent. Portions of the trail---particularly in the meadows areas have been overgrown and rock cairn markers, where they do exist, are often overgrown and difficult to find. Do not attempt this trail without detailed terrain maps and GPS equipment and the ability to use both. It would also be a good idea to carry a satellite phone (rentals are available) as there is no cell phone signal anywhere along the route from the Mirror Lake trailhead on the West all the way to the Chepeta lake trailhead on the East... |
