The beauty of Heber Reservoir attracts many people from all around. Heber Dam is a charming spot in the vicinity of Heber Reservoir. Lakes? Sure, Austin Reservoir is close at hand. Heber Reservoir gets very little rain; September is the month that gets the most rain while January is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There's pleasant hiking along the Lofty Lake Trail, and Heber Reservoir is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, East

| | Fork Campground is a fine spot to camp nearby. High temperatures at Heber Reservoir through the months of summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Heber Reservoir. Stay the night at Bear River Campground, and Blacks Fork - West Fork has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. So much cool stuff to do at Heber Reservoir, so little time. Pine | |

Knoll is pretty and can be made out from Heber Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Evanston is a brilliant choice. Good hiking is available along the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail, and do check out Willow Creek
if you're here at Heber Reservoir. Blake Reservoir is a great lake in close proximity to Heber Reservoir, and a delightful nearby hotel is Best Western Dunmar Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Blacks Fork - East Fork is
so much fun, and the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail offers hiking at its best. If you're dropping by Heber Reservoir from Evanston, you won't be the only one.

 | 19 miles away The U.S. Forrest Service last attention to this trail was in 1994/1995 and the trail markings in many places is all but non-existent. Portions of the trail---particularly in the meadows areas have been overgrown and rock cairn markers, where they do exist, are often overgrown and difficult to find. Do not attempt this trail without detailed terrain maps and GPS equipment and the ability to use both. It would also be a good idea to carry a satellite phone (rentals are available) as there is no cell phone signal anywhere along the route from the Mirror Lake trailhead on the West all the way to the Chepeta lake trailhead on the East... |
