This lake is so wonderful. It's a magnificent idea to stop at Horse Creek, it's in close proximity to Hawkensmith Reservoir, and nearby you come across the Geis Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Hawkensmith Reservoir is pretty dry generally; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; January is when it's the driest. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Inn At Sundance; a pleasant location       nearby is Bear Gulch. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Summer at Hawkensmith Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Hawkensmith Reservoir.
