    A visit to Hardpan Lake is always a good idea. If you came to camp Hanging Rock Campground is a good site to do that, and going for a hike along the Ishawooa Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. All the outdoors exciting things in the neighborhood of Hardpan Lake will keep you coming back over and over. After a long day outdoors The Cody is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. Hardpan Lake is commonly a relatively waterless site;  
   the wettest month of the year is ordinarily May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture.
This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is nice here at Hardpan Lake, you can go for a hike along the Table Mountain Trail, and Shoshone River - North Fork is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. Camping at Big Game Campground is always a brilliant experience, and the summit of Citadel Mountain can be made out from Hardpan
 
               Lake. Hardpan Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Absaroka Range. While you're here at Hardpan Lake you can take a hike along the Ishawooa Mesa Trail, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Shoshone River - South Fork. At Hardpan Lake throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows during the winter for Hardpan Lake tend to be in the 10's.
