In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Shoshone River - North Fork, and a lake nearby is Frost Reservoir. Hardpan Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay The Cody is a perfect choice; a great place to camp here at Hardpan Lake is Hanging Rock Campground. For the duration of the       months of summer at Hardpan Lake highs are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Hardpan Lake. So many fun things to do in the Absaroka Range, not sufficient time. There are pleasant places to explore along the Table Mountain Trail, and whitewater paddling is nice on Shoshone River - South Fork. At Hardpan Lake you don’t                  see much precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January is the month with the least moisture. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Absaroka Range. Going for a hike on the Ishawooa Mesa Trail is always a glorious adventure. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Hardpan Lake. Hardpan Lake is not the only location nearby, Stonebridge Reservoir is a nearby lake, and nearby you stumble on the Ishawooa Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail.
