The Stockwell Trail is a great hiking trail next to Hanes Reservoir; lots of people from Sheridan come here. Lakes? Sure, Moncreiffe Reservoir is in close proximity, and if you come at the right time of year, Clear Creek offers some wonderful whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. On a tremendous day at Hanes Reservoir you can take a hike along the Story Penrose Trail. If you came to camp Wagon Box Campground       is a splendid place to do that, and if you need a place to stay Quality Inn Sheridan is a good choice. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Hanes Reservoir. Drift down the rapids of Clear Creek in a kayak; camping at Cabin Creek Trailer Campground - Bighorn National Forest is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. Sheridan-Days Inn is a wonderful location to get some rest, and don't forget to take a brilliant                  little journey to Hanes Fork. Menardi and White Dam is a pretty place right next door to Hanes Reservoir; there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called the Penrose Park Trail. Hanes Reservoir gets very little precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. For the period of the long summer days here at Hanes Reservoir, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
