For the period of the days of summer here at Half Moon Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Half Moon Lake descend into the-10's. Go for a hike on the Park Loop Ski Trail; a nice spot for whitewater paddling is Boulder       Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Best Western Pinedale Inn is a good choice, and camping at Half Moon Campground is always a perfect experience. Get your heart pumping on the fine whitewater of Pole Creek, and on a delightful day you get a fine vista of Half Moon Mountain from Half Moon Lake. Any time is a fine time at Half Moon Lake if you love the outdoors. Going for a hike on the Grouse Mountain Ski Trail is always a                  splendid adventure; don't leave Half Moon Lake without first going for a hike along the Half Moon Trail. Half Moon Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Half Moon Campground is a good local campground, and a good nearby hotel is Baymont Inn & Suites Pinedale.
