He had homesteaded Sinks Canyon and the surrounding area, where my grandmother remained until just prior to her death in 1976 at the age of 96. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. Do visit Christina Lake near Gustave Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and Deer Park is a good spot. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Christina Lake Trail. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Gustave Lake. Stay the night at Fiddlers Lake Campground; you'll most likely meet some folks from Riverton       here. All through the months of summer highs here at Gustave Lake reach the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Gustave Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. Gustave Lake is a location that is reasonably dried out frequently; most of the rain falls all through May, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Just can't get enough of                  the Wind River Range. There's always Christina Dam to visit in the neighborhood of Gustave Lake; if you need a place to stay Best Western Inn At Lander is a magnificent choice. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Wind River Range. The Louis Lake Trail offers hiking at its best; if you're here, you could also visit wonderful Lower Silas Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Sioux Pass Trail, and after a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge is a fine place to spend a night or two.
