Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Absaroka Range. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Copeland Lake Trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Red Lodge Mountain. If you came for an overnight stay Lake Creek Campground is a magnificent site to camp, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Granite Lake is just a very short distance away. | | thing to do around Granite Lake; Granite Loop Trail is a pleasant local trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Clarks Fork Yellowstone River offers some great whitewater, and of course, this is a great area for folks who like lakes, Burnt Bacon Lake is a lake in close proximity. So many fun things in the Absaroka Range, just impressive. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clarks | |

Fork Yellowstone River; there's some flowing water nearby, Lake Creek is a stream you can stop at while here. This lake is so wonderful. During the summertime, highs typically are in the 70's at Granite Lake. Summer nighttime
lows sink down to the 30's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Granite Lake. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. From a rainfall point of view Granite Lake
is a pretty typical site; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. That right there is a lot already, but it continues; Granite Lake has it all. A short spree to Park Rapids is always worthwhile; the Upper Granite Loop Trail offers hiking at its best.
