Not much precipitation falls here at Gerkin Reservoir; May is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. Camping at Buffalo Koa Kampgrounds is always a great experience, and if you need a place to stay Occidental Hotel is a magnificent choice. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Clear Creek is so much fun; a good close by hotel is Motel 6. Not enough       hours in a day to enjoy this location. Near Gerkin Reservoir you come across fine places like Bates Draw; if you're popping by from Sheridan, you won't be the only one. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bozeman Trail, and if you came to camp Indian Campground is a brilliant location to do that. During the long summer days highs here at Gerkin Reservoir get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's.
