There is a magnificent hiking trail in the neighborhood of Gem Lake called the Solitude Trail, and you obtain a fine vista of Ant Hill from here. But wait, there's more fun       stuff to do in the Bighorn Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Clear Creek, and Highland Park Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. High temperatures at Gem Lake all through the warm days of summer are in the 60's while overnight lows are regularly in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows throughout the wintertime for Gem Lake tend to be in the 0's. Cloud Peak Dam has perfect water scenery and it's in the vicinity                  of Gem Lake, and going for a hike on the Angeline Trail is always a great adventure.
