You'll need more than a day to look at everything Gelatt Lake has to offer, you can camp at Brooklyn Lake - Medicine Bow National Forest. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Gelatt Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's.       The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Gelatt Lake are in the 10's. If you get bored of Gelatt Lake, you could also take a look at nearby Nelson Pond, and the top of Twin Buttes is easily seen from Gelatt Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Gelatt Lake without first going for a hike along the Overland Trail. There's so much to do here at Gelatt Lake that you need to camp here for a while, North Fork - Medicine                  Bow National Forest is a brilliant site for that. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Gelatt Lake. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Laramie River, and if you're stopping by from Laramie, you won't be the only one.
