Frozen Lake is a lake worth visiting. From a precipitation point of view Frozen Lake is a reasonably typical spot; June is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. That right there is a lot of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. A great location for whitewater paddling next to Frozen Lake is Clarks Fork Yellowstone River; if you want a little side trip, try Beartooth Pass. For the duration

| | of the warm days of summer at Frozen Lake highs are ordinarily in the 70's with overnight lows in the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; during the dark hours in the winter at Frozen Lake temperatures descend to the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Beauty Lake Trail is always a great adventure; after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Red Lodge is a good location to spend a night or two. You'll truly wish for more | |

hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Absaroka Range. Go for a hike on the Lewis and Clark Trail; you can stay the night at Buena Vista Campground.
But wait, there's more to do near Frozen Lake. In case you don’t
mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and Yodeler Motel is a tremendous place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There is a good hiking trail close to Frozen Lake called
the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail, and Long Lake Campground is a great campground nearby. At Frozen Lake you can observe Quintuple Peaks, and the skiing at Red Lodge Mountain is nice.
The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful.
