Man, is there lots of enjoyable things to do near Franklin Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Downtown Motel is a perfect place to spend a night or two; Franklin Reservoir is right by the Pine Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Lake Viva-naughton Marina is a nice site to camp; a tour to Fossil Butte National Monument is worthwhile.       Why not camp at Foothills RV Park if you're here at Franklin Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay Antler's Motel is a wonderful choice. Franklin Reservoir is pretty dried out regularly; May is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. On a wonderful day you get a sight of Round Mountain from Franklin Reservoir, and at Franklin Dam near Franklin Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see. All                  through the summertime months highs here at Franklin Reservoir get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's.
