Wyoming has many beautiful lakes and Fortress Lakes is one of them. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Bighorn Mountains, too glorious to be true. A day on the slopes of Big Horn Ski is just what you need. All through the days of summer at Fortress Lakes highs are regularly in the 60's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Fortress Lakes dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.

| | It is very dehydrated here at Fortress Lakes frequently; the wettest month of the year is frequently April, that's the one that snows the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. Paintrock Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by, and camping at Lake Creek Campground is always a good experience. Man, is there plenty of entertaining stuff to do in the Bighorn Mountains. You could also take a look at Gunboat Lake | |

hiking at its best.

don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tensleep Creek, and Fortress Lakes is right by the Solitude Trail.
