Sure, Walters Reservoir is just a very short distance away. Going for a hike on the Dry Horse Trail is always a splendid adventure; Shell Campground is a perfect campground nearby. All through the summer at Flitner Reservoir highs are regularly in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 50's.       The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Flitner Reservoir temperatures plunge to the 0's. So much amusing stuff close to Flitner Reservoir, simply unbelievable. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Big Horn Ski, and after a long day outdoors The Passage Resort at Big Horn is a good spot to spend a night or two. Flitner Reservoir is pretty dry ordinarily; of all the                  months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Bench Trail; there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Shell Creek. There's whitewater on Paintrock Creek for all you adrenaline kick people; if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Worland is a splendid choice. You could also explore Walters Reservoir since you're here at Flitner Reservoir; it's nearby; don't leave Flitner Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Elkhorn Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
