A tremendous spot to camp here at Firehole Lakes is Sourdough Campground; there are some glorious whitewater spots on Powder River - North Fork. It is very waterless here at Firehole Lakes frequently; April is when you get the most snow here, and February is the month with the least moisture. Go for a hike on the Mistymoon       Trail, and while you're here, you could stop at Pass Creek. You're most likely hooked on lakes, Lame Deer Lake is one of those nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Tensleep Creek. Firehole Lakes is one of the lakes here in the Bighorn Mountains. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Firehole Lakes. Going for a hike on the Solitude Trail is always a great adventure, and if you need a location to stay Rodeway Inn Buffalo                  is a tremendous choice. So many entertaining things in the Bighorn Mountains, just striking. Near Firehole Lakes you hit upon the Angeline Trail which is a good hiking trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Firehole Lakes, and the overnight is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Firehole Lakes. This lake is so wonderful.
