Hiking along the Mallard Lake Trail is delightful fun, and Porcupine Hills is clearly visible from Firehole Lake. Not much precipitation falls here at Firehole Lake; during the month of June you get the most rain around here, and October is the month with the least moisture. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the area next to Firehole Lake has to offer.       Buffalo Pool is a delightful spot to go to while you're at Firehole Lake. Going for a hike along the Fairy Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Desert Inn.
