A visit to Fantan Lake is always a good idea. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Clarks Fork Yellowstone River; you can stay the night at Long Lake Campground. Summertime at Fantan Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Fantan Lake. Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range. Soar down the rapids of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River

| | in a kayak, and the Lewis and Clark Trail is a splendid hiking trail close by.
Fantan Lake gets a typical amount of rain; June is when you get the most rain here, and October is when it's the driest. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Red Lodge Mountain is right next door to Fantan Lake, and there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Beauty Lake Trail. Fantan Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range.
