A beautiful lake like Goose Lake near Excelsior Geyser Crater is a tremendous place to pop by; Lower Geyser Basin is a scenic location any time of year. This lake is so wonderful. There are magnificent places to discover along the Fairy Creek Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Madison Campground is a great place to camp. Midway Bluff is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Excelsior Geyser Crater;       there's some flowing water close by, Fairy Creek is a stream you can go to during your stay. All through the summer at Excelsior Geyser Crater temperatures are mostly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Excelsior Geyser Crater. Good hiking is available along the Summit Lake Trail, and Indian Creek Campground is a great local campground. Not much                  precipitation falls here at Excelsior Geyser Crater; during the month of June you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Gray Wolf Inn & Suites. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things close to Excelsior Geyser Crater. Kelly Inn Yellowstone is a wonderful spot to get some rest, and Boulder Spring is a beautiful location to stop at while you're at Excelsior Geyser Crater.
