Ernest Lake gets very little rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and July is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Ernest Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Ernest Lake. Not far from Ernest Lake, you'll come across Indian Lake which       is a charming lake, and on a great day you can take a hike along the North Bitch Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Teton Campground, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Bitch Creek. There's some flowing water nearby, Coyote Creek is a stream you can pop by while here; why not visit Bergman Lake Dam if you're here. Man, is there loads of entertaining things to do right next door to Ernest Lake. Grand Targhee has great                  slopes and a friendly staff, and after a long day outdoors Grand Targhee Ski And Summer Resort is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Ernest Lake is a glorious location to camp, Cave Falls Campground is a glorious location, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Poacher Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
