    Elkhorn Reservoir is a lake worth visiting. It is very dry here at Elkhorn Reservoir frequently; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February on the other hand is the driest. The Wind River Range scenery is always beautiful. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Wind River Range. Take a hike on the Sweetwater Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Elkhorn Reservoir has to offer, you can camp  
   at Dickinson Creek Campground.
Summertime at Elkhorn Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's; night lows in the-10's for Elkhorn Reservoir. The Little Sandy Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you've had enough of Elkhorn Reservoir, Sheet Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Elkhorn Reservoir is right by the Dutch Joe Larsen Creek Trail,
 
               and you're in all probability interested in lakes, Little Sandy Lake is one of those close by.
Elkhorn Reservoir is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Big Sandy Campground is a great spot to camp nearby, and hey, Little Sandy Creek is a great local stream. What a place this is for outdoors people. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge is a fine choice.
