    Beautiful Elk Lakes has much to offer visitors. From a rainfall point of view Elk Lakes is a reasonably common place; through June this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. Take a hike on the Reef Creek Trail, and Elk Lakes is a pleasant place to camp, Dead Indian Campground is a pleasant place. This lake is so wonderful. Elk Lakes is right by the Morrison Trail, and you can stay the night at Little Sunlight Campground.

   the summertime, highs typically are in the 70's at Elk Lakes. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Elk Lakes dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. This place is so good, just look at all the cool stuff to do near Elk Lakes. Dry warm beds await you at Green Creek Inn & Rv Park, and there's whitewater on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River for all you adrenaline  
               kick people. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Absaroka Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and if you need a site to stay Trail Shop & Inn is a magnificent choice.
Elk Lakes is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range. This place, the Absaroka Range, has so much outdoors entertaining things. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Red Lodge Mountain; why not take a refreshing hike along the Trout Creek Trail.
