If you are in Johnson county it's always a good idea to stop by Elk Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bighorn Mountains. Whitewater paddling is fine on Tensleep Creek. Lakes? Sure, Cloud Peak Reservoir is close at hand. Elk Lake is pretty dry frequently; April is the month that gets the most snow; February meanwhile is the driest month.
All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Bighorn Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. Not

| | far from Elk Lake you get some brilliant water scenery at Cloud Peak Dam, and nearby you hit upon the Solitude Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. There are perfect sites to look at along the Penrose Park Trail, and a good spot to camp here at Elk Lake is Highland Park Campground. This place, Elk Lake, it truly has so much outdoors fun stuff. Visit Elk Creek while you're here at Elk Lake, and at Elk Lake you can catch a glimpse of Ant Hill.

up here to the Bighorn Mountains for a good time. Going for a hike on the Angeline Trail is always a glorious adventure, and Sheridan-Days Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. For the period of the
warmest time of the year at Elk Lake highs are ordinarily in the 60's, and through the night it cools down to the 30's. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Elk Lake
dip into the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clear Creek; why not camp at Circle Park Campground since you're here at Elk Lake.
