So many entertaining things close to Elk Lake, clearly fantastic. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Dubois is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and a picturesque lake like Mud Lake is a nice site to have a look at. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Absaroka Range. If the weather is wonderful here at Elk Lake, you can go for a hike along the Indian Point Trail,       and Caldwell Creek is near Elk Lake and is always a joy to go to. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Absaroka Range. While you're here at Elk Lake you can take a hike along the Frontier Creek Trail, and Shoshone River - South Fork is a good whitewater spot nearby. A great place for whitewater paddling close to Elk Lake is Wind River - East Fork; lakes are such calm spots, why not check out Snow Lake. For the duration of the long summer                  days highs here at Elk Lake get into the 80's, and the nighttime is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Elk Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. A cool spot to have a look at close to Elk Lake is Norton Point. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Elk Lake has to offer, you can camp at Longhorn RV & Motel.
