At Elk Lake you don’t see much rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Elk Lake is one of the lakes here in the Laramie Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn , Inn & Suites, and hey, Elk Run Creek is a nice local stream. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Deer Creek RV Park while you're here at Elk Lake, and       Buffalo Peak is a peak you can make out from Elk Lake. Now, you may think that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Laramie Mountains. A great place near Elk Lake is Peterson Canyon; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Deer Creek. High temperatures at Elk Lake during the months of summer are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The winter                  brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Elk Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
