Go to Duck Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Duck Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Red Lodge Mountain; a pleasant nearby hotel is Cary Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel - Red Lodge is a good site to get some rest, and Sawtooth Meadows is a great location.
There are some good whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and do take a hike on the Morrison Trail.

| | Having a perfect time at Duck Lake is painless. Camping at Duck Lake is perfect fun, Island Lake Campground is a perfect local campground, and Duck Lake is right by the Lewis and Clark Trail. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Duck Lake; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Duck Lake.

Absaroka Range is so good! While you're here at Duck Lake, you could also pop by lovely Chain Lakes, and if you come at the right time of year, Clarks Fork Yellowstone River offers some great whitewater. You just can't envision the
amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Absaroka Range has to offer. Why not camp at Long Lake Campground since you're here at Duck Lake, and the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful.
An average amount of rain falls at Duck Lake; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month of the year is October.
