It's a great idea to check out Coal Creek, it's in close proximity to Dry Lake; drift down the rapids of Gros Ventre River in a kayak. Around Dry Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; January is when you get the most snow here; the driest month of the year is July. Just can't get enough of the Wind River Range. After a long day outdoors Colter Bay Village is a delightful location       to spend a night or two, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Ditch Creek. Having a magnificent time at Dry Lake is trouble-free. Camping is available at Lava Creek Campground, and if you need a place to stay Togwotee Mountain Lodge is a splendid choice. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more enjoyable things to do in the Wind River Range. Going for a hike on the Two Ocean Lake Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and a good site to camp here                  at Dry Lake is Colter Bay Village RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. There is a glorious hiking trail in the vicinity of Dry Lake called the Emma Matilda Lake Trail. A tour to Grand Teton National Park is worthwhile, and if you've had enough of Dry Lake, Uhl Reservoir is nearby. There are splendid places to look at along the Hermitage Point Trail, needless to say you could also stop at Toppings Lakes while you're here; it's not far at all. The Wind River Range scenery is always beautiful. Summertime highs at Dry Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's.
