This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail, and Dollar Lake is not the only spot nearby, Lake WGN is a nearby lake. You simply ought to go for the Absaroka Range. Sawtooth Meadows is a charming spot any time of year, and Red Lodge Mountain is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. Man, is there heaps of amusing things to do in the Absaroka Range.       There's so much to do here at Dollar Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Long Lake Campground is a great site for that, and there's whitewater on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River for all you thrill seekers. All through the warm months, highs regularly are in the 70's at Dollar Lake; the overnight is a tad colder of course, commonly in the 30's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Dollar                  Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. There's nice hiking along the Lewis and Clark Trail, and a lake close by is Duck Lake. The annual rain here at Dollar Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is October. Dollar Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Island Lake Campground is a great local campground, and there are some good whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. This lake is so wonderful.
