You definitely have to love the Absaroka Range. Since you're here at Deacon Lake why not take a look at Bear Pocket, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Dubois is a wonderful choice. Twilight Creek is a good local stream, and don’t forget to have a look at Five Pockets if you're here at Deacon Lake. At Deacon Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night       sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; night lows during the wintertime for Deacon Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Best Western Pinedale Inn, and Twilight Falls is always fun to check out. Get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Wind River, and there's glorious hiking along the Parque Creek Trail. Be careful coming to Deacon                  Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Shoshone River - South Fork; the Twilight Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. Man, is there plenty of fun things to do in the Absaroka Range. At Deacon Lake you can make out Cathedral Peak; camping is available at Double Cabin Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Circle Up Camper Court Shop is a wonderful place to camp, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Burroughs Creek Trail. Not much rain falls here at Deacon Lake; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while February is usually the driest month.
