Near Cross Lake you locate the Lake Ethel Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and of course, this is a great vicinity for people who like lakes, Barnes Lake is a lake nearby. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Wind River Range. Boulder Creek has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Cross Lake has to offer,

Cross Lake gets very little precipitation; through the month of May you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range.
Best Western Pinedale Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest, and Cross Lake is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Boulder Campground is a perfect place to camp nearby.
