So much entertaining stuff to do in the Bighorn Mountains, not sufficient time. This lake is located in the wonderful Bighorn Mountains. Cross Creek Lakes is a location that is rather dried out generally; of all the months in a year April is the one with the most snow, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Coffeen Park Campground is always a       good experience, and possibly you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Lake Elsa is just a very short distance away. If you come at the right time of year, Tensleep Creek offers some great whitewater, as expected you could also have a look at Rainbow Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Cross Creek Lakes has it all. Hiking along the Mistymoon Trail is good fun; there are some good whitewater spots on                  Paintrock Creek. At Cross Creek Lakes during the warm months highs are in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 30's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Cross Creek Lakes overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's. This place, the Bighorn Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Very beautiful scenery and fine skiing is what you get at Antelope Butte, and do take a hike on the Cliff Lake Trail.
