Around Crater Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of       the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. There are glorious places to look at along the Arlington Pack Trail, and why not a little side trip to Carlson Creek. Man, is there a load of fun things to do in the vicinity of Crater Lake. Crater Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Nash Fork Campground is a perfect local campground,                  and you can hit the slopes at Snowy Range nearby. Summertime highs at Crater Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and overnight lows at Crater Lake all through the wintertime frequently fall into the 10's. Just can't get enough of the Medicine Bow Mountains. Go for a hike on the Circle Trail, needless to say you could also pop by Sand Lake Reservoir while you're here; it's not far at all.
