This lake is one of the great places here in the Park Range. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Cow Creek Reservoir; the overnight is a little chillier of course, generally in the 50's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Cow Creek Reservoir temperatures plunge to the 10's. Cow Creek Lake Dam is a spot that is in close proximity to Cow       Creek Reservoir, and The Sage And Sand Motel LLC is a glorious place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Fireline Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and Haskins Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. A good close by hotel is CrossTimbers at Steamboat, and a delightful site is Hidden Treasure Gulch. Cow Creek Reservoir is usually a relatively dried up place; the                  wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Park Range. From Cow Creek Reservoir you get a wonderful sight of Doane Peak. Near Cow Creek Reservoir you find the Elkhorn Stock Driveway which is a nice hiking trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Bottle Creek Campground is a splendid spot to camp. So many entertaining things to do in the Park Range, not sufficient time.
