Near Cottonwood Lake you hit upon the Cottonwood Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail; why not take a little tour to Whisky Creek if you're here. Around Cottonwood Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is May; the driest month of the year is February. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Wind River Range. Lakes are nice; Duck Lake is a lake that's       close to Cottonwood Lake, and a wonderful close by hotel is Amerihost Inn Pinedale. Go for a hike on the Jim Lake Trail, and camping at Cottonwood Lake is fine fun, Scab Creek Campground is a fine local campground. Cottonwood Lake is located in the Wind River Range. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! Cottonwood Lake is so good! Going for a hike on the Chilcoot Trail is always a good adventure. Summer at Cottonwood Lake comes with high temperatures                  in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Cottonwood Lake fall into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
