From Cook Reservoir you get a delightful sight of Bear Mountain. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Cook Reservoir; the night is somewhat cooler of course, generally in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's while Cook Reservoir overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Around Cook Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and January is       when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Cook Dam is worth a visit since you're here, and get yourself into a kayak and hit North Platte River. There are other sites here than Cook Reservoir, for example Meer Reservoir; Casper Super 8 Motel is a great place to get some rest.
