Good hiking is available along the Ice Lakes Trail, and you can spot Bears Ears Mountain from Cook Lake. High temperatures at Cook Lake during the days of summer are in the 80's, and the overnight is rather cooler of course, mostly in the 40's. Through the winter highs are usually in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Cook Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. At Cook Lake you don’t see much rainfall;       May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is December. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Bull Lake Creek, and you're most likely keen on lakes, Cathedral Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cook Lake; Washakie Trail is a nice local trail. There's so much to do here at Cook Lake that you                  need to camp here for a while, Big Sandy Campground is a perfect site for that. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Wind River Range. Go for a hike on the Lizard Head Trail, and if you need a place to stay Silver Spur Motel is a glorious choice. Be careful coming to Cook Lake, you might not ever want to go home again.
