North Fork - Medicine Bow National Forest is a magnificent campground nearby,       and hiking along the Pole Mountain Trail is tremendous fun. Not much precipitation falls here at Columbus Reservoir; during July this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. If you came for an overnight stay Brooklyn Lake - Medicine Bow National Forest is a good place to camp, and close by you find Gilmore Gulch which is a great place to go to. Columbus Reservoir is not far at all from Laramie; why not take a little visit to Lone                  Tree Creek if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. First Gold Inn is a good site to get some rest, and do take a hike on the Lincoln Trail.
