Paintrock Creek is a splendid whitewater spot right next door to Castle Reservoir, and the top of Wild Horse Butte is easily made out from Castle Reservoir. Summertime highs at Castle Reservoir mostly tend to be in the 90's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Castle Reservoir.
