Buttercup Reservoir is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Camping at Absaroka Bay Recreational Vehicle is always a fine experience, and drift down the rapids of Shoshone River in a kayak. Buttercup Reservoir is pretty dried up frequently; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. A wonderful close by hotel is Budget Host Inn Cody, and if you came to camp Cody Koa Kampground is a fine location

| | to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Cody Legacy Inn and Suites is a glorious site to get some rest, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Jim Bridger Trail. For the period of the summer highs here at Buttercup Reservoir reach the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Buttercup Reservoir temperatures fall to the 0's.
