Good hiking is available along the Jakeys Fork Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Soapstone Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Boone Lake; C M Trail is a glorious local trail, and not far from Boone Lake you'll find Blueberry Lake which is a scenic lake.
