In Wyoming there are many beautiful lakes, Bobs Lake is one of them. Bobs Lake is generally a rather dried up place; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. So much entertaining stuff near Bobs Lake, simply phenomenal. You can run the rapids of Bull Lake Creek in the vicinity of Bobs Lake, and the Halls Lake Trail is a good hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Dream Lake is

While you're here at Bobs Lake, you could also visit wonderful Sandpoint Lake; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Pinedale Inn. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Wind River Range has to offer. There is a great hiking trail near Bobs Lake called the Scab Creek Trail. There's | |

so much to do here at Bobs Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Big Sandy Campground is a great place for that. Having a good time in the Wind River Range is simple. Summertime highs at Bobs Lake ordinarily tend to be
in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Bobs Lake are in the-10's. If you're here at Bobs Lake, you could pop by Dream Creek, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Dream Lake Trail.

Ice Lakes
1 PHOTO I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork....
Sonnicant Lake
Lake is centraly located in the saint lawrence basin lakes. Good views, makina (lake)trout mostly, easy 9 hour hike....
Scab Lake Trail
scab lake trail is not one for the weak, it is a hard climb with outstanding rewards of beauty & huge high powered brilliantly colored brook trout up to 6 lbs that we know of in scab lake! oh almost forgot the last time I went was July 5 it snowed at scab 18 plus inches, I hope that I remembered to tell that the 11 mile trail to the scab lake is a hard hard climb, I have only made it 3 times to the lake thanks Allen Eagle concrete worker & stock car racer Jackson Hole...
Hay Pass Trail
I backpacked over Hay Pass (from Boulder Lake Trailhead to to Golden Lakes) last July 25. Easy ascent to pass except for stream crossings, trail gets faint for about 1/4 mi.above Dennis Lake (quite a view down to the lake. At the outlet of the unnamed lake (Beth Lake???) below the pass on the west side (at head of North Fk Boulder Cr.) water was high & swift, so I routed eastward around to the head of the lake crossing 2 inlet streams where they braid apart. through thick willows- a slow deal, but better than hip-deep swift water at the outlet. Great cutthroat fishing at Victor Lake (on fish to 19) during a hail storm. Guess the fish thought the hail was a swarm of bugs. Saw nobody else from Victor lk. to Golden Lks and back (3 days). Not the most spectacular scenery in the range (peaks are mostly round-topped, not like the jagged peaks to the north or south), but no people and great fishing (Golden Lakes had lots of 14 goldens but they were not biting- typical of goldens). Going in again this July, only farther this time, north of Golden Lakes. Anybody going that way?...
Papoose Lake
17 miles away Lake seemed fishless although a beautiful lake. Was there 2 days and only saw 1 rise. Nice place to camp though as there is low traffic. Make sure you follow outlet to avoid massive rock pile....
