At Blacktail Pond you don’t see much rain; May is when you get the most rain here; February on the other hand is the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Absaroka Range. Hiking along the Lower Blacktail Trail is glorious fun, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Gardiner/Yellowstone Park Area. This lake is so wonderful. Blacktail Pond is not the only place close by, Crevice Lake is a close by lake; camping is available       at Lava Creek Campgrounds. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. While you're here at Blacktail Pond you can take a hike along the Lower Blacktail Trail, and Comfort Inn Yellowstone North is a nice site to get some rest. Looking for something next to Blacktail Pond? Phantom Lake is in close proximity It's always nice to stop at Wraith Falls. Blacktail Pond is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Rescue Creek                  Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Eagle Creek Campground is a good site to camp. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Absaroka Range. Lupine Creek is a lovely stream that is worth taking a look at, and a good spot for whitewater paddling is Mulherin Creek. High temperatures at Blacktail Pond through the warm months are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
