This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Lizard Head Trail. There's so much to do here at Big Sandy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Big Sandy Campground is a delightful location for that. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Wind River Range, too wonderful to be true. You're probably interested       in lakes, Rapid Lake is one of those close by, and Big Sandy Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Dickinson Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground. All year is a great time in the Wind River Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Clear Lake Dam is worth going to while you're here, and the summit of Big Sandy Mountain can be distinguished from Big Sandy Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Big Sandy Lake without first going for a hike along the Diamond Lake Trail, and almost certainly you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, North Lake is just a very short distance away. Big Sandy Lake is a location that is pretty dried out generally; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and December is when it's the driest. Through the warm days of summer at Big Sandy Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Big Sandy Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
