Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Powder River - Middle Fork; the Cash Trail is a great hiking trail close by. This lake is located in the wonderful Bighorn Mountains. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Bighorn Mountains. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Big Red Reservoir. A quick visit to Cottonwood Creek right next door to Big Red Reservoir       is a good idea, and there's whitewater on Powder River - North Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers. At Big Red Reservoir through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Big Red Reservoir dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights. Not much rain falls here at Big Red Reservoir; May is when you get the most                  rain here; February is the month with the least moisture. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Buffalo is a great location to spend a night or two, and you're perhaps hooked on lakes, McCarthy Reservoir Number 1 is one of those nearby. So much amusing stuff to do in the Bighorn Mountains, not enough time. Big Red Reservoir is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Lower Doyle Creek Campground is a nice local campground, and since you're here, you might as well take a look at Big Red Draw.
