    A visit to Big Moose Lake is always a good idea. Be careful coming to Big Moose Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. You can run the rapids of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River in the vicinity of Big Moose Lake, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Crazy Lakes Trail. Don't forget to take a great little visit to Hemingway Creek. There's so much to do here at Big Moose Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Crazy Creek Campground is a magnificent  
   site for that. Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range.
During the months of summer highs here at Big Moose Lake reach the 70's, and the night is slightly colder of course, mostly in the 30's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Big Moose Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Lake Reno Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and there's
 
               whitewater on Clarks Fork Yellowstone for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Red Lodge Mountain has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff, and Big Moose Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Creek Campground is a pleasant local campground.
And that's not everything there is to do here in the Absaroka Range. There is a delightful hiking trail close to Big Moose Lake called the Crazy Mountain Trail, and needless to say, this is a great vicinity for people who like lakes, Big Moose Lake is a lake close at hand. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Big Moose Lake; throughout June this area sees the most rain; the driest month is October. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful.
