Why not stop by Beaver Lake if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Beaver Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here, and if you get bored of Beaver Lake you could also take a look at nearby Boulter Reservoir. At Beaver Lake you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. This is no spot for people
| | | |
| | who don’t like to have fun. While you're here at Beaver Lake you can take a hike along the Francis Lake Tail, and Best Western Pinedale Inn is a good place to get some rest. If the weather is splendid here at Beaver Lake, you can go for a hike along the Highline Trail, and swamps like Poston Meadows in the vicinity of Beaver Lake make for nice spots to have a look at. Big Sandy Campground is a nice campground nearby, and the scenery at Boulter Dam is wonderful. | |

Bears Ears Trail
 | The Bears Ears trail is superb. My Sierra Club crew did a lot of trail work here near Mt. Chavenet, and built the replacement Moss Creek footbridge. The Washakie Ranger group are great!... |
Ice Lakes
 | 10 miles away 1 PHOTO I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork.... |
Papoose Lake
 | 10 miles away Lake seemed fishless although a beautiful lake. Was there 2 days and only saw 1 rise. Nice place to camp though as there is low traffic. Make sure you follow outlet to avoid massive rock pile.... |
Sonnicant Lake
 | 11 miles away Lake is centraly located in the saint lawrence basin lakes. Good views, makina (lake)trout mostly, easy 9 hour hike.... |
