    Go to Bear Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Bear Lake is pretty dry ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is June while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Bear Lake. Near Bear Lake you come across Pole Cabin Gulch which is a nice location to visit, and there's good hiking along the Iron Creek Trail. Be careful coming to the Black Hills, you might not ever want to go home  
   again.
There's so much to do here at Bear Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rod and Gun Campground is a great site for that; dry warm beds await you at Spearfish Travelodge. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Timon Campground; there are great sites to explore along the Bear Gulch Trail. Yeah, come up here to the Black Hills for a nice time. Don't leave Bear Lake without first going for a hike along the Pettigrew Trail, and Best Western
 
               Inn At Sundance is a magnificent place to get some rest.
The Black Hills scenery is always beautiful. At Bear Lake during the summertime highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 30's, and night lows at Bear Lake through the wintertime regularly dip into the 0's. A short visit to Hamilton Spring is always worthwhile; get yourself into a kayak and hit Spearfish Creek.
