    If you are in this part of Wyoming make sure to pay a visit to Austin Reservoir. Austin Reservoir is not far at all from Evanston. Heber Dam is worth visiting while you're here, and a nice nearby hotel is Best Western Dunmar Inn. While you're here at Austin Reservoir, you could also pop by delightful Heber Reservoir, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blacks Fork - East Fork.
This lake
 
   is so wonderful. Willow Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at, and hiking along the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail is pleasant fun. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Evanston is a wonderful choice; Blake Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. High temperatures at Austin Reservoir all through the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. High temperatures through the  
               winter are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Austin Reservoir dip into the 0's.
Around Austin Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; through the month of September you get the most rain around here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Austin Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at East Fork Campground, and if the weather is delightful, you get a fine vista of Pine Knoll from Austin Reservoir. Just can't get enough of Austin Reservoir. Going for a hike along the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; Blacks Fork - West Fork is a pleasant whitewater spot close by.
This lake is so wonderful. Have a good hiking adventure along the Lofty Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Austin Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Bear River Campground is a great spot for that.

The U.S. Forrest Service last attention to this trail was in 1994/1995 and the trail markings in many places is all but non-existent.  Portions of the trail---particularly in the meadows areas have been overgrown and rock cairn markers, where they do exist, are often overgrown and difficult to find.  Do not attempt this trail without detailed terrain maps and GPS equipment and the ability to use both.   It would also be a good idea to carry a satellite phone (rentals are available) as there is no cell phone signal anywhere along the route from the Mirror Lake trailhead on the West all the way to the Chepeta lake trailhead  on the East...
