Go to August Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. Through the summer, highs usually are in the 70's at August Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's; night lows in the-10's for August Lake. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Wind River Range. Do visit Edmond Lake near August Lake, it's a pretty lake;

This place, August Lake, it clearly has so much outdoors cool stuff. Timico Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and the Hay Pass Trail offers hiking at its best. At August Lake you can distinguish North Fork Peak; while you're here why not pop by Hat Pass. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Boulder Creek, and camping is available at Scab Creek Campground. This lake is located in the wonderful Wind River Range.
And if that's not enough there's loads more cool stuff to do in the Wind River Range. August Lake is right by the Boulder Canyon Trail; get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Pole Creek.
August Lake is a location
that is relatively dried up usually; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
