| | paddling on Bull Lake Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There's brilliant hiking along the Fremont Trail, and most likely you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Deadman Lake is just a very short distance away. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Alpine Lake; Europe Canyon Trail is a tremendous local trail, and needless to say, this is a magnificent region for people who like lakes, Milky Lakes is a lake around here. outdoors cool stuff the area in the vicinity of Alpine Lake has to offer. Alpine Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Scab Creek Campground is a good local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Dubois.
So many amusing things in the Wind River Range, just astonishing. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Wind River Range. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Hay Pass Trail; don't forget to take a glorious
little tour to Middle Fork Bull Lake Creek. Alpine Lake is ordinarily a reasonably dried out spot; during June this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.

Hay Pass Trail
I backpacked over Hay Pass (from Boulder Lake Trailhead to to Golden Lakes) last July 25. Easy ascent to pass except for stream crossings, trail gets faint for about 1/4 mi.above Dennis Lake (quite a view down to the lake. At the outlet of the unnamed lake (Beth Lake???) below the pass on the west side (at head of North Fk Boulder Cr.) water was high & swift, so I routed eastward around to the head of the lake crossing 2 inlet streams where they braid apart. through thick willows- a slow deal, but better than hip-deep swift water at the outlet. Great cutthroat fishing at Victor Lake (on fish to 19) during a hail storm. Guess the fish thought the hail was a swarm of bugs. Saw nobody else from Victor lk. to Golden Lks and back (3 days). Not the most spectacular scenery in the range (peaks are mostly round-topped, not like the jagged peaks to the north or south), but no people and great fishing (Golden Lakes had lots of 14 goldens but they were not biting- typical of goldens). Going in again this July, only farther this time, north of Golden Lakes. Anybody going that way?...
Sonnicant Lake
Lake is centraly located in the saint lawrence basin lakes. Good views, makina (lake)trout mostly, easy 9 hour hike....
Ice Lakes
10 miles away 1 PHOTO I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork....
Scab Lake Trail
15 miles away scab lake trail is not one for the weak, it is a hard climb with outstanding rewards of beauty & huge high powered brilliantly colored brook trout up to 6 lbs that we know of in scab lake! oh almost forgot the last time I went was July 5 it snowed at scab 18 plus inches, I hope that I remembered to tell that the 11 mile trail to the scab lake is a hard hard climb, I have only made it 3 times to the lake thanks Allen Eagle concrete worker & stock car racer Jackson Hole...
Double Lake
15 miles away Fish it with royal wolfs being stipped on top of the water, big cuttthroats will slam it...
Bears Ears Trail
17 miles away The Bears Ears trail is superb. My Sierra Club crew did a lot of trail work here near Mt. Chavenet, and built the replacement Moss Creek footbridge. The Washakie Ranger group are great!...
Suicide Lake
